Biography
Robert has a unique background in a wide range of educational, tutoring and volunteer settings. He has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston and a Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from Southern Methodist University. He has taught undergraduates for six years and provided private and group tutoring at the university level for eight years. He has held numerous volunteer and youth teaching/enrichment positions, both paid and volunteer, including as Board Member of the Ronald McDonald House and Clean Galveston (Galveston), an instructor for the Junior Players Summer Discover Acting Program (Dallas) and the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program (Texas Gulf Coast). He also worked for seven years in Higher Education as a Student Affairs professional, working with students in a variety of positions in Residence Life, Judicial Affairs, Student and Student Group Advising, Academic Advising, and Multicultural Services. Robert’s method of working is based on helping students find successful learning strategies that can be applied to any area of study. He has a passion for giving students confidence in themselves and helping them reach their academic goals.
Robert is a professional actor and ACE certified personal trainer, raised in Texas and recently relocated to Los Angeles. In his spare time he enjoys running, the outdoors, volunteering, reading, reducing his carbon footprint, and discovering new uses for nature’s perfect food: The avocado.
