Biography
Makeda grew up in New York City and discovered her passion for education while working for the non-for-profit, Staging for Smiles, a program that introduced low-income kids to the magic of theater. Makeda went on to attend New York University, majoring in Theater and minoring in Adolescent Psychology. She began her tutoring career working with third graders, giving them specialized attention, math tutoring, and literacy help within over-crowded classes. She also gained several years of experience working with high school students, tutoring English, history, SAT prep, theater studies, as well as tutoring AP Literature, AP Psychology, and AP U.S. History. Makeda looks forward to sharing her tutoring success with the students at Inspired Minds.
